ADHD SUPPORT
What does coaching for adhd look like?
ADHD presents a wide range of symptoms, and no two students experience it in exactly the same way. Often, students with ADHD are mistakenly perceived as lazy or unmotivated, when in reality, their brains are just driven differently. My ADHD coaching focuses on understanding these differences and developing personalized strategies for success.
Coaching for ADHD includes three primary aspects:
1. Personalized Strategy Development
We work together to identify the specific challenges a student is facing—whether it’s time management, focus, impulsivity, or organization. Through this, we develop tailored strategies that work with their brain’s unique strengths rather than against them.
2. Shifting Limiting Beliefs
Many students develop internalized narratives like:
❌ “I’m just a bad test taker.”
❌ “I always procrastinate; I can’t help it.”
❌ “I’ll never be good at time management.”
These beliefs often stem from years of struggle rather than an actual inability to succeed. My coaching helps students reframe these thoughts, replace them with practical strategies, and build the confidence needed to take control of their academic journey.
3. Supporting Parents & Guardians
Navigating ADHD as a parent or guardian can be challenging, especially when traditional approaches to motivation and discipline don’t always work the way you’d expect. While I don’t offer parenting advice, I do provide insight into how an ADHD brain functions, helping you:
✅ Understand why certain behaviors happen (and what may be behind them).
✅ Explore ways to encourage positive behaviors in a way that aligns with how your student’s brain works.
✅ Learn practical, research-backed strategies to create structure and support at home.
Coaching isn’t just about helping students adapt to their challenges—it’s about helping families better understand ADHD and create an environment where success is possible.
