My Coaching Can Be Broken Down into 5 Steps:
- Identify Challenges
- Explore Strategies
- Set Goals
- Accountability
- Evaluation and Adjustments
Step 1: Identify Challenges
Identifying and naming the challenges that students are facing is key to success. I ask questions to help students name those challenges, and explore the root causes of those challenges.
Step 2: Explore Strategies
There are no “one-size-fits-all” approaches to success. I provide students with a long list of research backed strategies that can help them succeed. It is incredibly important for students to find what works for them!
Step 3: Set Goals
I guide students through setting realistic short-term and long-term goals, giving them something to strive for.
Steps 4 & 5: Accountability & Refinement
Whether in our weekly meetings, or via text/email, I follow-up with students on how well they have been able to accomplish their goals. When they succeed, we can work out reward systems to reinforce good habits.
When students fail to meet their goals, we analyze what may have went wrong, and develop a plan to address those challenges next time.
