Step 2: Meet with Me to Develop an Action Plan

✔ In the first meeting I will assess strengths and challenges using research back methods and tools

✔ In collaboration with the student, we will identify some clear, measurable, and achievable goals

✔ I will provide the student practical and implementable strategies and techniques to overcome their unique challenges and achieve their goals

✔ There will be plenty of hands-on learning and practice during Coaching sessions

Step 3: Accountability & Refinement

✔ Regular email or app check-ins with Coach

✔ Review and identify challenges faced when implementing strategies

✔ Continue to refine approach until both students and parents are comfortable and confident in academic performance

DJ Hightower is an Academic Coach based in Fort Collins, dedicated to helping students build the skills they need to succeed. After spending five years coaching college students, he is now expanding his services to high school students, continuing his mission to make a positive impact in the community.

DJ specializes in ADHD and Executive Functioning Support, bringing both professional expertise and personal experience to his coaching. Having been diagnosed with ADHD himself, he understands the unique challenges—and strengths—of having a brain that works a little bit differently. DJ’s approach is rooted in empathy, practical strategies, and a deep understanding of how to help students harness their potential.

Before becoming an Academic Coach, DJ earned master’s degrees in both Higher Education and Business Administration (MBA). Prior to his journey in academia, he also served for five years as an Officer in the U.S. Marine Corps, where he gained valuable leadership experience—lessons he now passes on to future generations through his Foundational Leadership Training Program.

DJ’s coaching style is approachable and encouraging, creating a supportive space for students to explore their challenges. He prides himself on providing tailored, practical strategies that empower students to take action and develop lifelong skills for success.
